The Salesman Who Became a Whiskey
Paddy began as the Cork Distilleries Company's flagship, and it took its name from Paddy Flaherty, the company's salesman who was so generous with rounds on his pub route that landlords reordered by asking for 'Paddy Flaherty's whiskey' — until the company renamed the whiskey Paddy in 1912. The recipe keeps all three classic Irish styles in one glass: grain whiskey for light floral sweetness, malt for toasty biscuit depth, and single pot still for the traditional Irish creaminess. Pour it alongside the rest of our Irish whiskey collection, or see the line on the Paddy Whiskey vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Nutty maltiness with woody freshness, spice, honey and vanilla. Palate: Light and crisp — nutty and malty with a touch of charred wood. Finish: Gently fading sweetness, mellow malt and mild wood.
How to Enjoy
Neat it is an easy, mellow pour; it is also the classic Irish coffee whiskey, and its lightness makes it a friendly highball with ginger ale and a lemon twist.
