Manly Spirits Coastal Stone Xplore Double Grain Australian Single Malt Whisky

Manly Spirits Coastal Stone Xplore Double Grain Australian Single Malt Whisky is a 40% ABV Australian double grain whisky from Manly Spirits Co. in Sydney's Northern Beaches — a blend of double pot-distilled single malt and column-distilled wheat whisky, filtered through Sydney sandstone and matured in ex-bourbon and ex-shiraz American oak casks. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Manly Spirits makes this whisky grain-to-glass at its Northern Beaches distillery, blending around 40% in-house single malt with 60% wheat whisky for an easy-drinking, approachable profile built to welcome new whisky drinkers. The sculptured bottle echoes the eroded textures of the Sydney coastline, and the Coastal Stone range is the distillery's flagship Australian whisky line.

Tasting profile: almond cake, pear and green apple with mince-pie spice on the nose; a light, creamy palate of vanilla from the American oak, cinnamon and treacle from the malt, lemon zest and barley sugars; a lingering malt finish. Serving note: drink neat, over ice, or in a whisky highball; the distillery also blends Xplore into its Coastal Stone Whisky & Cola.
