La Adelita Anejo Tequila
La Adelita Anejo Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof) añejo aged 18 months in second-use American oak whiskey barrels, distilled from 100% single-estate Highland blue agave at NOM 1479 — Compañía Tequilera Hacienda La Capilla, a Los Altos, Jalisco distillery dating to circa 1885 — in this 750mL bottle. Agave from Rancho el Fraile is autoclave-cooked, roller-milled, and fermented in stainless steel with deep-well water, then double-distilled in small Cuban-built copper pot stills and hand-bottled on site. The brand, launched in 2019, is named for the soldaderas of the Mexican Revolution. Order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

The Soldadera's Añejo: 18 Months in Oak
"La Adelita" honors the women who rode with the Mexican Revolution — and founder Chris Radomski built the tequila to match the name: estate agave, copper pot stills, no additives, and a full 18 months in second-use American oak for the añejo. Eighteen months is half again the category minimum, and it shows in the glass — deep, polished, unhurried. Browse the añejo tequila collection, all tequila, or the full La Adelita range.
Tasting Notes
Deep and polished: cooked agave and caramel up front, vanilla and baking spice through the middle, seasoned oak framing a long, warm finish. The highland agave brightness survives the wood — citrus and white pepper still flicker at the edges.
How to Enjoy
Sip neat in a copita or Glencairn — this is the bottle for converting a whiskey drinker. A single large cube is acceptable; keep it away from mixers. It also makes a superb tequila old fashioned.
