Kenwood Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 is a 14.5% ABV Sonoma County cabernet — a 750mL library bottle from the 28th vintage of Kenwood's celebrated Artist Series. The finest Cabernet lots were drawn from hillside vineyards in Sonoma Valley's Mayacamas range and blended with Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the valley floor for body and ripe fruit. Since 1975 every Artist Series bottle has carried an original commissioned artwork — the 2002 features a painting by Bay Area abstract expressionist Kenjilo Nanao. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Art on the Label, Mountain Fruit in the Bottle

The Artist Series is Sonoma's longest-running wine-and-art collaboration: each vintage gets an original commissioned painting, making every bottle a small gallery piece. The 2002 pairs Nanao's "White Waves" with an intense mountain cabernet — full-bodied, structured, built to age. Explore the cabernet sauvignon collection and more Kenwood Vineyards wines.

Tasting Notes

Red currants, black cherries and plum with French oak, spice and licorice. Full-bodied with smooth tannins and a lingering, silky finish.

How to Enjoy

Decant and serve at 60–65°F. A mature 2002 wants hearty food: braised beef, lamb, hard aged cheeses. The label art makes it a gift-worthy bottle.
