Jameson Triple Triple Irish Whiskey
Jameson Triple Triple Irish Whiskey — 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL — does everything in threes: triple distilled in the Jameson tradition, then matured in three cask types — ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry and sweet chestnut casks — before the pot still and grain whiskeys are blended at Midleton Distillery in County Cork. The chestnut wood is the twist: a first for Jameson, it layers toasted nut and dark chocolate over the house's signature smoothness. Announced in October 2024 as a permanent addition to the US range, it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Good Things Come in Threes
Jameson has triple-distilled its whiskey since the Bow Street days — John Jameson's process, carried on today at Midleton, is what makes the style so approachable. Triple Triple extends the rule of three to the wood. Bourbon casks give vanilla and fudge, Oloroso sherry casks bring dried fruit and spice, and sweet chestnut casks — prized in Italy and new to Jameson — add the roasted-nut depth that sets this blend apart from the standard bottling. The result keeps the easy-drinking core of the original and gives it a darker, richer edge.
Tasting Notes
Jameson's official US notes: toffee fudge, vanilla and hazelnut chocolate on the nose, with subtle sweet pear and green apple and hints of dark chocolate and toasted almond. The taste brings creamy fudge and vanilla, mild nutty undertones, gentle wood spices and orchard fruit over toasted wood, finishing long — the fruits and spices fade first, and the oak and chestnut last.
How to Enjoy
Neat, over ice, or in a whiskey ginger — the chestnut depth also makes it a fine Irish old fashioned or a richer-than-usual Irish coffee.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Jameson Triple Triple different from regular Jameson? The casks. Regular Jameson matures in bourbon and sherry casks; Triple Triple adds a third — sweet chestnut casks — on top of the triple distillation, for extra toasted-nut, chocolate and spice depth.
What is a chestnut cask? A barrel made from chestnut wood rather than oak. Chestnut is a traditional cask wood in parts of Europe and gives whiskey pronounced toasted almond, dark chocolate and nutty flavours — Triple Triple is the first Jameson to use it.
Is Jameson Triple Triple a limited edition? No — the US bottling (the Chestnut Edition) was introduced in early 2025 as a permanent part of the Jameson range in the United States.
