The Ryans have six generations in Irish whiskey — the Limerick Distillery, Birch's of Roscrea, barley suppliers to the trade — and the family bottled "Ryan's Malt" in association with the Dublin Whiskey Distillery until it closed in 1946. Beggars Bush brings that lineage back: a 12-year-old single malt matured under family supervision, released for the centenary of the family's Dublin pub. The profile runs sweet oaky vanilla, orchard fruits, lemon citrus, passionfruit, orange peel, ginger, and cinnamon on the nose; silky honey sweetness, pineapple, oranges, and ginger snap biscuits on the palate; and a long, warm-hearted, malty, spicy finish.
