The Small Batch from ODA 595
The Small Batch is the Horse Soldier range's middle tier: proofed up from the 90-proof Straight Bourbon to 95, below the variable heat of the Barrel Strength, and blended in small batches for consistency. Behind the bottle stands the founding story — a Special Forces team that rode horses alongside the Northern Alliance in the first weeks after 9/11, commemorated by the "America's Response" monument at Ground Zero. Tasting Notes
Per the brand: honey, apples, citrus, toffee and leather on the nose; caramel, honey, butterscotch, woodiness, cashew, spiced raisin and a hint of toffee on the palate.
How to Enjoy
Neat or on a large cube; the wheated softness and 95 proof also carry an Old Fashioned or Boulevardier cleanly. More wheated bourbons are in our spirits collection.
