Gentleman's Cut Player Exclusive Father & Son Edition 16 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey by Steph Curry
Gentleman's Cut Player Exclusive Father & Son Edition 16 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey by Steph Curry is a 100-proof (50% ABV), 750mL Kentucky straight bourbon — distilled in August 2008 at Boone County Distilling Company in Northern Kentucky (75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley, 500-gallon copper pot still) and aged 16 years in new charred American oak. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
The Father & Son Edition bottles a basketball symmetry that may never repeat: Stephen Curry's 16th NBA season, matched against his father Dell Curry's own 16-year NBA career. Stephen Curry: "I consider my father to be one of the greatest... I wanted to bottle this amazing feeling and share it with the world." Just 1,000 hand-numbered bottles were released (December 2024, $950 retail), each signed by Curry and presented in a collector's walnut box. The brand — built with Napa vintner John Schwartz of Amuse Bouche — debuted in 2023 and followed its core release with a 15-year Player Exclusive for Curry's 15th season; this 16-year is the sequel, aged one year longer for one season more.
Tasting profile: intense dried cherry and caramelized brown sugar with tobacco leaf and spiced oak on the nose; warm vanilla and toffee on the palate with baking spices, sweet pipe smoke, and leather; a long finish of sweet char, cherry wood, and earthy tobacco. Serving note: a collector's pour — neat, in a good glass, on a night that deserves it.
