Dingle Samhain Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a 101-proof (50.5% ABV), 700mL triple-distilled Irish single malt — matured in first-fill Bourbon casks, then finished for two years in first-fill Muscatel casks, non-chill filtered and bottled without added colour. It is the first release in Dingle Distillery's Wheel of the Year series, limited to 10,000 bottles, and available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
Samhain is the festival of fire and feasting that ends the bright summer days and opens the Celtic New Year — the precursor to Halloween, and the perfect name for the whiskey that opened Dingle's Wheel of the Year in October 2022. It is also a distillery milestone: Samhain was the first cask-finished release Dingle ever made, five years of Bourbon-cask spirit given a long, generous two-year rest in Muscatel wine casks that softened the strength without softening the flavour. It earned Silver (85 points) at the London Spirits Competition 2023.
