Fifteen years of Oloroso oak turn Bowmore's signature peat smoke into something rich and crimson: the brand's official notes cite moist Corinth raisins, sweet dates, cinnamon, cocoa beans and dark chocolate with subtle smoke on the nose, and a palate of cedarwood, treacle toffee, boiled-sweet confectionery, clove spice and vibrant liquorice root. The finish is rich, wooded and lingering — sweet spice and mineral-forward peat. Whisky Advocate's Jonny McCormick scored it 90 in Summer 2025 (baked orange, plum, molasses, licorice, charred wood). For Scotch drinkers, it is sherry-cask Islay at its most composed.
