Reflection II: The Brighter Middle Notes
Where Reflection I zeroed in on dark base notes of oak and caramel, Reflection II turns the blend toward the middle of the palate — florals, freshness and sweetness — with a dominant mash bill that runs lower in rye than the original. Gammon anchored the blend with some Reflection I for continuity, then painted with an entirely different brush, and raised the proof from 95 to 100. The bottle wears Blue Run's signature butterfly medallion in the same reflective sterling silver as the first Reflection. Tasting Notes
Blue Run's official notes: a bright bouquet of warm spices and rich cocoa on the nose; a palate of bountiful orange peel harmonised with farm honey, fresh toasted oak and salted caramel blondies; and a complex finish of spicy citrus oils evolving into barrel spice and churros sprinkled with powdered sugar and a dash of cayenne.
How to Enjoy
Neat first — the mid-palate fruit and honey are the point of this blend. On a big cube it turns dessert-leaning, and it builds a bright, citrus-lifted Old Fashioned.
