Talisker is distilled at Carbost, on the shores of Loch Harport beneath the Cuillin hills — a place whose weather gets into the whisky. Per the producer: brilliant gold; a powerful peat-smoke nose with sea-water saltiness and citrus sweetness; a full, rich palate of dried-fruit sweetness, clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense with pepper at the back of the mouth; and a huge, long, warming, peppery finish with an appetising sweetness.
