Rotari Brut Trentodoc Sparkling Wine 2015 is a 12.5% ABV, 750mL vintage metodo classico from Trentino, Italy, made from 100% Chardonnay grown on hills along the Adige Valley at the foot of the Dolomites. The wine rests on its yeasts in bottle for at least 24 months, giving it the fine, persistent bead and delicate yeast complexity of a true traditional-method vintage sparkler. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Mountain Metodo Classico From the Dolomites

Rotari has specialised in Trentino metodo classico since the 1970s. For this vintage, hand-picked Chardonnay is destemmed and crushed, the must is cooled and held on skins for 8–10 hours, and only free-run must is collected — no pressing — before stainless-steel vinification and full malolactic fermentation. After a 35–40-day second fermentation in bottle, the wine rests on its yeasts for at least 24 months. Compare it with the rest of our sparkling wine and Champagne range, browse the wider wine shelf, or see the producer on the Mezzacorona vendor page.

How to Enjoy

Serve it well chilled as an aperitivo, or with oysters and crudo, grilled freshwater fish, roast chicken or a creamy risotto.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Trentodoc? Trentino's DOC for bottle-fermented (metodo classico) sparkling wine from mountain vineyards around Trento and the Dolomites — principally Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, aged at least 15 months on lees, and longer for vintage wines.

Is Rotari Brut a Champagne or a Prosecco? Neither — it is a Trento DOC metodo classico: fermented a second time in bottle like Champagne, but from Trentino, Italy, and in this vintage made entirely from Chardonnay rather than tank-fermented like Prosecco.

What does "2015" mean on this bottle? It is a millesimato, or vintage wine: grapes from the single 2015 harvest, with the longer vintage lees ageing of at least 24 months rather than a multi-year non-vintage blend.

A vintage mountain sparkler with real lees depth — order Rotari Brut Trentodoc 2015 online from Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.
