Distilled at Midleton Distillery in Ireland's signature single pot still style, it first matures in ex-American whiskey and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, then finishes 16 months in Moscatel wine casks from Bodegas Quitapenas in Málaga, Spain — a family winery since 1880, now in the hands of fifth-generation custodians Marta Suárez Prieto and Víctor Suárez Onrubia. The European-oak hogsheads were seasoned with Moscatel wine for two years before sailing to Midleton, where Master Blender David McCabe crafted the final blend.
