Mijenta Reposado Tequila
Mijenta Reposado Tequila is an additive-free, 100% Blue Weber agave reposado bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in 750mL, rested up to six months in a blend of American white oak, French oak, and French acacia casks. Made in the Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco, Mexico, under the eye of Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero, it pairs highland agave florals with gentle three-wood oak influence — vanilla, honey, and cocoa-nib depth without the harshness. Three Woods, One Highland Reposado
Mijenta ("mi gente" — my people) launched in 2020 out of Arandas in the southern Los Altos highlands, with Ana María Romero — the maestra tequilera who invented the first mainstream tequila aroma wheel — building every expression from agave grown on the region's red clay soils, farmed without pesticides or herbicides. The Reposado is tasted every 15 days as it rests, so the three cask woods round rather than dominate: white flowers, peach, and honey from the highland blanco soften into vanilla, light caramel, and acacia's floral sweetness, with peppery agave still leading the finish. Tasting Notes
Light golden hue, bright and transparent. A delicate, inviting vanilla nose with bergamot, honey, preserved fruits, and orange-blossom flowers; a rich palate of cooked agave, honey, and vanilla with a mid-palate of cacao nibs; a long, generous, silky finish that keeps the agave in front.
How to Enjoy
Neat in a copita or over a single large cube — it's an elegant, gently oaked reposado for drinkers who want highland florals with a whisper of barrel. It also shines in a reposado-forward Paloma or Margarita, and pairs with ceviche, grilled fish, and tacos al pastor.
