From Mexico's Oldest Cantina
The Hussong's name comes from Hussong's Cantina in Ensenada, Baja California — opened by German immigrant Johann Hussong in 1892 under alcohol license #002, and widely cited as Mexico's oldest cantina and one of the birthplaces of the Margarita (1941). The tequila carries that heritage into the glass: no barrel, no additives, just double-distilled agave. Among Hussong's tequilas, the Silver is the purist's pour.
Tasting Notes
Expect a crisp, smooth, clean 100% agave flavor — bright and unadorned, with the natural sweetness of cooked agave and a fresh, peppery lift. No official brand tasting notes exist for this expression; the profile above reflects consistent retailer descriptions.
How to Enjoy
A natural margarita and ranch water base — its clean agave character shines in a classic Margarita, a Paloma, or simply over ice with lime. Sips cleanly neat for blanco purists.
