Ha'Penny Irish Whiskey
Ha'Penny Irish Whiskey is a 43% ABV (86 proof), 750mL blended Irish whiskey from Pearse Lyons Distillery in Dublin — the Four Cask expression: no age statement, components aged 4–10 years, built from 38% malt whiskey and 62% grain whiskey across four cask types, and bottled non-chill filtered. The four casks are the recipe: malt aged in port pipes, malt in first-fill bourbon barrels, grain in sherry butts, and grain in double-charred barrels. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Named for Dublin's Halfpenny Bridge
Ha'penny takes its name from Dublin's Ha'penny Bridge, the cast-iron crossing of the River Liffey named for the halfpenny toll once charged to walk it. The whiskey comes from Pearse Lyons Distillery, set in the former St James's Church in the Liberties, Dublin's historic distilling quarter. Rather than a single cask story, Four Cask is a blending exercise: rich port-pipe malt and vanilla-leaning bourbon-barrel malt against sherry-butt grain and the deep char of double-charred grain, married at 38/62 in favour of the grain's sweetness, and left un-chill-filtered at 43%. Find the distillery's range on the Ha'penny vendor page or browse the wider whisky collection.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Oak spice and nuttiness with dried berries, tropical fruit, vanilla and cinnamon (brand notes). Palate: Peppered wood spice, dried apricot, marzipan, demerara and praline, vanilla, crème caramel, orange citrus and dark fruit. Finish: Lingering oak spice.
How to Enjoy
Neat or with a splash of water — the non-chill-filtered texture rewards it. The four-cask depth also stands up in a Whiskey Sour or an Irish Old Fashioned.
