England's Original London Dry, Distilling Since 1761
Greenall's story starts in 1761, when Thomas Dakin bought a distillery on Bridge Street in Warrington and began making gin to a recipe that has been guarded by a short line of master distillers ever since. The Greenall family took over the distillery in 1860, and their name has been on the bottle ever since — England's oldest continuous gin distillery still at work. The botanicals are macerated in the pot still for at least 24 hours before distillation, in the traditional London Dry way. Shop the gin shelf, meet the maker on the Greenall's vendor page, or compare a modern London recipe in East London Liquor Company Gin.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Woody, earthy juniper with warm spice. Palate: Silky, developing camphor and citrus with underlying Eastern spice from the cassia and coriander. Finish: Rounded juniper and mature citrus.
How to Enjoy
The brand's ideal serve is a gin and tonic with premium tonic and two lime wedges. That juniper-and-spice backbone also makes it a natural martini and negroni gin.
