Fortaleza still makes tequila the old way — agave crushed by stone tahona wheel, fermented in open-air wooden tanks, double-distilled in small copper pots at NOM 1493. The Winter Blend series takes that traditionally made spirit and gives it an annual limited-edition barrel treatment; the 2023 edition blends six barrel types for unusual depth. Note: the 2023 is bottled at 44% ABV — distinct from the 46% 2020 edition.
