Crotalo Double Oak Reposado Tequila
Crotalo Double Oak Reposado Tequila is a 750mL reposado bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave at NOM 1509, Tequila Embajador, in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, and double-barrel aged for just over 11 months — six months in French oak, finished for five months in the brand's proprietary oak barrels, which turns the spirit a deep gold. Brick-oven cooked and double distilled in copper pot stills, it is a reposado rested almost to the anejo line. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Why "Double Oak" Is the Whole Idea
Most reposados see one barrel; Crotalo's sees two. The make is the same verified Embajador base as the rest of the range — hand-selected blue agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, roller-milled with deep well water, stainless-steel fermented, double distilled in copper pots — and then the rest splits in two: French oak smooths the spirit for six months, and a second, proprietary oak barrel finishes it for five more, deepening the colour to gold and layering the spice. Eleven-plus months puts it at the very top of the reposado class, a month shy of anejo territory. See the range on the Crotalo vendor page and in our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per Agave Matchmaker's detected profile: cooked agave and caramel lead, with banana, fruit, barrel spice, leather, minerals, orange peel, hazelnut, oak, vanilla and black pepper — an integrated, baking-spiced reposado with agave sweetness and earth underneath.
How to Enjoy
Excellent sipped neat, and the brand's own recommendation for premium Margaritas, where eleven months of oak stand up to the lime. More reposados are in our tequila collection and across our spirits collection.
