Crotalo Anejo Tequila
Crotalo Anejo Tequila is a 750mL anejo bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave at NOM 1509, Tequila Embajador, in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, and double-barrel aged for just over two years — a little over a year in French oak, finished for a year in the brand's proprietary oak barrels. Brick-oven cooked, roller-milled and double distilled in copper pot stills, it is a limited-production, traditionally crafted anejo built to be sipped like a fine Scotch or brandy. Two Barrels, One Rattlesnake
Crotalo takes its name from Crotalus, the rattlesnake genus, and its tequila the slow way: hand-selected, hand-harvested 100% blue agave, cooked in stone and brick ovens at Tequila Embajador, extracted by roller mill with deep well water, fermented in stainless steel and double distilled in copper pot stills. The anejo then ages in two acts — French oak first, then a finish in the house's proprietary oak barrels — for just over two years in total, in hand-blown glass bottles with hand-applied labels, in limited production. See the full range on the Crotalo vendor page and in our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per Agave Matchmaker's detected profile: banana, caramel, cooked agave and oak lead, with honey, vanilla, leather, chocolate, cinnamon and butterscotch behind them — a dessert-leaning anejo with a rich, long, sweet-spicy finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat, slowly — two years and two barrels earn a straight pour before any cocktail gets a vote. More anejos are in our tequila collection and across our spirits collection.
