Two Villages, One Believer
"Creyente" means believer — and the belief here is that great mezcal comes from tradition: agave slow-roasted in earthen pits, crushed by the massive stone tahona, naturally fermented, and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. Creyente's maestro mezcaleros produce in Tlacolula and Yautepec separately, and the two liquids are blended only after distillation, marrying each village's character into a joven that is velvety-smooth yet true to its smoky roots.
