Cascahuin 55-25 Anejo Tequila
Cascahuin Special Edition 55-25 Añejo Tequila is a one-time 2025 special edition marking the "1955/2025 Anniversary and 25 Years Since the First Añejo" at Destilería Cascahuín in El Arenal, Jalisco. This 750mL bottle is bottled at 88 proof (44% ABV) and is additive-free — no additives, no coloring.
The blend is unusual: 90% añejo aged 12 months in ex-Sherry casks, married with 10% añejo aged a full 48 months — the long-aged component adding depth to the sherry-cask brightness. It's made from 100% Blue Weber agave from the 2017 harvest, cooked 72 hours in stone ovens, milled by roller mill, fermented in the open air, and double distilled in copper pot stills under Master Distiller Salvador Rosales Torres (NOM 1123). Once this run is gone, the recipe will not return.
Tasting notes
Nose: cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, cocoa, dried fruit, baking spice, earthy undertones. Palate: roasted agave, butterscotch, cinnamon, dark chocolate, oak spice, citrus peel, black pepper. Finish: long and elegant — caramelized agave, oak, spice, cocoa, and a mineral earthiness.
