Casamigos Tequila Mezcal
Casamigos Tequila Mezcal is a 750mL mezcal joven bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Espadin agave grown in Oaxaca, Mexico, and produced in Santiago Matatlan by a fourth-generation family of mezcaleros. An Artisanal Joven From Santiago Matatlan
Casamigos launched its mezcal in 2018 as the house's first line extension after Diageo's acquisition — the brand George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman founded in 2013, extended into Oaxaca. The process is deliberately traditional: pinas split and cooked for four to six days in earthen pits, cooled, tahona-crushed, fermented slowly, and double-distilled in covered copper pots, then bottled in matte-black, hand-finished bottles. The official Casamigos site lists the expression as a 2025 winner at competitions including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the New York International Spirits Competition, without specifying medal levels. Tasting Notes
Per the brand: fragrant herbal and fruity aromas with hints of smoke — tamarind and pomegranate, fresh mint and dried oregano — over flavors of smoke and black pepper, leading to a long, silky finish.
How to Enjoy
Sip it neat to keep the delicate smoke in frame, or use it where a Margarita or Paloma wants a whisper of mezcal character. More mezcal is in our tequila and mezcal collection.
