Ardnamurchan is one of Scotland's youngest and greenest distilleries, built by legendary independent bottler Adelphi on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula and powered by renewables (hydro-electric and biomass) since its first distillation in 2014. The "AD/" editions are celebrated for transparent, cask-driven releases — each bottle carries a QR code linking to full cask and supply-chain traceability data. This Sherry Cask Release draws on 2018 and 2019 casks, is un-chillfiltered with natural colour, and the 2024 second batch ran to 21,000 bottles worldwide. Tasting notes
Per the distillery: Murray mint, bonfire on the beach, salted peanut ice cream, and Brazil nut on the nose with teriyaki and tamari depth. The palate turns tarry and savory — smoky bacon, peanut brittle, red plum and cherry — finishing with crashing waves, sea salt, and cigar-shop smoke.
