Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 700mL bottle by the Tomatin Distillery, established in 1897 in the Scottish Highlands.

Style: Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Age: 12 Years

Cask: Fully matured in sherry casks

ABV: 40% (80 proof)

Size: 700mL

Region: Highlands, Scotland

The Softer Side of the Highlands, Turned Rich

Tomatin calls itself “The Softer Side of the Highlands,” and the standard Tomatin 12 Year Old shows that gentle side through bourbon and sherry casks combined. This Sherry Cask edition takes the same 12-year-old malt and commits it entirely to sherry wood for its whole life, trading some of that softness for decadent richness — the kind of depth sherry lovers hunt for across the Scotch whisky shelf.

Tasting Notes

Caramelised apple and pear lead the nose, balanced by sultana, orange peel, apricot and hints of aged leather. The palate deepens into chocolate fudge and manuka honey, layered with dried fruit and nut. The finish is warm and round, closing on a sweet cinnamon spice.

How to Enjoy

Neat in a tulip glass is the way to meet it first — the sherry fruit needs no help. A few drops of water open the dried-fruit notes further, and it stands up beautifully after dinner alongside dark chocolate or a cheese course.
