Distilled and aged in Puerto Rico, Oro Especial — Special Gold — starts from the same aged base as the Platino, which spends a minimum of one year in oak, and is then twice-finished in once-used bourbon casks, the double finishing that gives it its gold color and its distinct, complex profile. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750mL bottle, with zero carbs, zero sugar and a gluten-free profile. Every bottle sold sends one dollar to Puerto Rican small businesses through the brand's From Puerto Rico, For Puerto Rico program. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Proof / ABV: 80 proof (40% ABV)

Size: 750mL

Age / Finish: Aged rum, twice-finished in once-used bourbon casks

Origin: Distilled and aged in Puerto Rico

Twice-Finished in Bourbon Casks

Most gold rums get their color and call it a day. Oro Especial earns its character twice over: an aged Puerto Rican base, then a second round of finishing in once-used bourbon casks that layers vanilla and oak over the cane. Sonrisa — the Spanish word for smile — was built to lift rum alongside fine whiskey and tequila, and Oro Especial is the expression made for classic whiskey cocktails as much as for sipping.
