The Indian Wells Cabernet is our warm climate ripe, jammy ‘New World’ style of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine offers dark fruit aromas and flavors. Syrah added an enhanced richness and concentration to the wine.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Vineyard Notes: Nearly half of the fruit came from vineyards in Washington’s Horse • Heaven Hills AVA. 20% of the fruit was sourced from our Cold Creek Vineyard, one of Washington’s oldest and warmest sites. 19% of the fruit was sourced from the Wahluke Slope, a region known for rich, ripe reds.
Winemaking Notes: Grapes were destemmed and sorted to gently handle fruit and remove any green material, allowing for more pure, concentrated fruit expression. Gentle pumpovers were used to extract optimal flavor and color, and minimize harsh tannins. Aged for 19 months in 29% new American and 6% new French oak barrels.
