Penderyn Rhiannon Sherrywood Grand Cru Finish Welsh Whisky

Icons of Wales #7 – Penderyn Celebrates Rhiannon, the Mythical Welsh Goddess. 

The release itself was distilled in Penderyn’s signature style, using a single copper-pot that produces what’s described as a flavorful spirit of extraordinary strength and purity.

The resulting spirit is from a whisky vatting of Oloroso sherry casks matured with Bordeaux Grand Cru matured single malt whiskies.

The Penderyn Icons of Wales Rhiannon, according to official tasting notes, has an aroma of spicy sweetness with the hint of vanilla, oak tannins, red berries, black currants, hazelnuts, pears, sultanas and sweet marzipan. On the palate, the spirit has smooth sweetness, creamy caramel, figs, red berries, delicate frangipane, chocolate ganache and a touch of coffee. The finish is sweet and dry with long lintering oak tannins.
